Car overheating

Asked by Jul 16, 2018 at 11:17 PM about the 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok so my car used to overheat in idle, I changed
the thermostat, the radiator fan because it didn’t
work, the radiator cap and made sure my fluids
were topped off. It worked for awhile then it started
back up overheating again in idle. A couple weeks
after it started overheating while driving, coolant
started shooting out of a hose that’s connected to
the thermostat housing. I’ve drove it since and it
overheats at random and starts shooting out
coolant after I let it sit a little and driving it the meter
goes up and down for a little then goes back to
normal. I’ve also noticed that my radiator fan went
out again after just replacing it about 2 months
ago... any tips on what’s going on?
