The key from the locksmith may fit into the ignition, but it's not programmed for your car....You will have to get a Chrysler Dealer to help you out here. What happened to the other set of keys (never had them to being with??)

Does the new key have a microchip? If so put it in the ignition and press the lock button on the remote and then the unlock. that should program the remote. If not I suggest you go to http://needswings.com/ and order one that comes programed for your security system so the car can start. The ring around the ignition is a code reader and if it can't read a code you can't start the car

The type of key you are looking for is referred to as a "chip" key. It has a microchip in it which means that anyone who does not have the correct chip in the key or a chip at all, will not be able to start your car normally. Since I just recently purchased a Crossfire, you can find the correct replacement on the site keylessride.com. It will set you back about $180, but you will be able to start your car once you receive the key from them and get it programmed to your car at the dealership.
