oil light came on and the truck died

driving down highway and oil light came on and the truck died and then I tried to start it and would not. dash lights and radio and truck falshers or working. can you help me/

The oil light is warning of low oil level or low oil pressure. The combination of the light coming on and the engine problems spells doom but check the oil level and put oil in it. Maybe this is your lucky day.
