Depends on the condition of the rest of the car. Miles? Transmission good shape? a 1986? If, say, it's dented to heck, interior torn up, 4 bald tires and suspension in need of work.....forget the whole thing...not worth it. Money pit. Now, if that's all not true...good tranny, etc. and you decide to go ahead with rebuilt motor stick with same 2.6. Less other parts to change

It's only got 86 thousand miles on it but it looks like it sat for a while somewhere the body's got a few dents a few rusted parts but I have two of them one with a ciezed motor and one with the knocking rod not sure how the other ones ciezed though

sounds like they would both make good boat anchors. unless they were mint I agree that they are a money pit. you probably need tranny work and maybe front end work as well. you would be much better off finding a decent newer used car, just make sure you get it checked out by a mech. before you buy it. any reputable seller won't balk at that and if they do, walk away.

conquests are killer little cars. if you love it as i do fix it. they are a lot of fun. the value doesnt matter. price a vega. a pinto. corvair. all junk in the public eye but master pieces for the cool car guys. if you need to look cool the conquest is cool. if you need to keep up with the jones? buy a vette or some other money pit. whoever says they are money pits doesnt own a car. they are all money pits.
