driving down the freeway about 65mph. car has been running great, no problems. then suddenly the engine quits. just up and dies. thought fuel pump had went out, but then checked and realized car had no spark, not firing. called flatbed to tow it home for $180 bucks. what do i do now? what could have gone wrong with my 1994 cadillac deville? engine is a 4.9 v8 with close to 130,000 miles on it. NEEEED HELP!!!!! PLEEEEZ!!!!

A bad crankshaft position (CKP) sensor or broken, loose or corroded wires from the sensor to the PCM. A bad ignition coil, A bad rotor or distributor cap, Faulty ignition switch.

Thank you so much joemom. Turns out it was the distributor cap. My husband has since fixed the problem. We're so relieved that it was something fairly simple and inexpensive. The car is running like a dream once again, and I be back on my way to visit my dad. Again, much thanks for the help. It sure did the trick.
