starts hard

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It takes several times to start my car. Then you can smell gas. Has a new starter, had the injectors cleaned. Could this be caused by a bad sensor or a leaking injector?

Unless you get a trouble code then it might be the ignition. Check the plugs for the right gap and make sure you have a good consistent spark. It could be the injector but it is more likely not getting enough spark and is missing.

First check for spark if no spark check your camshaft position sensor ( if your looking at the motor from the passanger side its on the left side, right below the valve cover) also could be bad crankshaft position sensors there are two of them. If one is bad it will start and barely i mean barely run or not even run at all. They are right by your oil sandwich.(right above where you put your oil filter on) Hope this helps mail me if this doesnt solve it

If u cut the 2 white wires from the steering wheel which I believe go to the security system will the car start...key will not go into ignition...but it's the key made for the car..doesnt make sense..
