Ignition Coil overheating

Asked by Beefy Jun 27, 2017 at 09:32 PM about the 2004 Tata Indica

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi there,

My Tata Indica heats up the coil to a point where you cannot even touch it
and then it eventually kills the power of the car and the coil itself. I have
exchanged the Coil 4 times and the same thing happens. Once I start the
car, it idles for a few minutes and then the idle gets rough and then the car
looses power and then just cuts the power of the car. When you then touch
the coil, it is too hot to touch and you eventually discover that the coil is
dead. What might be causing the problem?
