Car battery voltage high on dash

Voltage bartery goes up and down while driving
and smoke coming from the hood. What could it
be?

A pulley may have locked up causing the serpentine belt to drag, the drag is causing the alternator output to vary. You can't drive this in this condition, it needs to be looked at and fixed right away.

Could also have a coolant leak that is dripping on the belt causing it to slip. Ask my friend Ken said, you can't drive it like that.
