2004 CTS Transmission

I was driving and all of a sudden, loss power.  the car was still running, but wasn't moving.  I ran it through all the gears and nothing.  Any advice on what I should check?

Did you get it figured out me car is doing the same thing

Try getting the input and out put splin checked. The is an up dated part that if replaced will prevent rust and corrosion that causes it to strip.

Would yall consider 1800bucks steep if the transmission has to be replaced...just needing an idea bc I was going to talk them down on price since I would have to replace the transmission they said it has 143,000 miles on it

My 2004 CTS just did the same thing and it was just a $400.00 repair!! Come to find out when I was getting the transmission oil changed they WAS NOT changing the filter so my filter was clogged and I mean clogged. Put a new filter and new oil in it and it works like brand new!! I did find out the dealer (Cadillac dealer) DOES NOT change the filter unless you tell them too, which is bulls**t!!
