How do I replace a door jamb switch on my 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis ?

One of the door jamb switches (front, right) on my '87 Mercury Grand Marquis does not work properly any more. When opening the door, the interior lights don't turn on. Doing the same on the drivers door, it works perfectly. So I assume there is a contact problem with the door jamb switch. I'd like to remove and inspect it and - if necessary - replace it. But I'm uncertian how to pull it out as I do not ant to damage anything. Maybe someone has a recommendation how to proceed and what tool to use.

Using a small flat blade screwdriver simply pry it out of the door jam. HTH. -Jim
