vw touran 2004 large radiator fan stops but smaller fan stays on after turning car off. I have to disconnect it to stop. any ideas would be great.

Try letting it run and time how long it takes before it turns off ? If engine is running a little more hot then normal the fan will stay on until it senses that it is cool enough to shut off or could be a bad coolent temperature sensor.

Thanks for the reply. I turned the car off. came back out an hour later and it was still going..

It is screwed into the engine block were on your vehicle I do not no. Google your question may be a video on where it is located on your vehicle and may also show you how to change it.
