I'm having problems with a 1976 TR6 restoration.

Asked by lasshot Sep 27, 2015 at 07:10 PM about the 1976 Triumph TR6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Back brakes:  everything is new, shoes, adjusters, cylinders.  I checked all
parts and all part numbers.  The only thing not new is the drums.  I bead
blasted them.  Adjusters are turned all the way in. Drums won't go on.  They
are the drums I took off.  I'm not sure if they are the right ones though.  Any
ideas.  Signed, Help Me!!

I went through that on my kids car. The auto store gave me the wrong shoes. They were way too thick. Had to buy thinner ones.

If you go to Rockauto.com click on their choices of brake shoes you will notice that they have the dimensions posted. The diameter and width will vary depending on which brand you buy.
