1980 Chevy

I bought a 1980 Chevy and the chick I
bought it off of hooked the battery up
backwards and she heard a pop. What can I
do to fix this?

My son recently did the same thing to his 01 civic ex, obviously they are two completely different vehicles, but I'm sure the end results are most likely the same thing. I had to replace 4 of the main fuses in the engine compartment for him to have power back to everything again. The POP that was heard was most likely the bigger 40amp'ish main power fuse saying adios would be my guess without knowing more. .
