1982 F-100 w/ 4.9l Straight Six

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So the F-100 will turn over, and it will try to start, but it won't. An hour after we
initially started working on the truck, we got it running and it ran perfectly. But I
left town and let it sit for 3 months. (stupid me i know)

Using a timing light, we found that the timing was fine. It has spark, and fuel is
getting into the carb. We replaced the ignition switch and module. The gas is
fresh and we just got a new battery.

I have found that there is a part of the carb that we still have to attach, it
sparks lightly when it touches the carb. I'm figuring there is a grounding issue
somewhere.

Other than that, I have no clue what would be the problem. It ran fine 3 months
ago.
