1978 ford 3spd to 5 spd

Question type: Car Customization

My 1978 Ford f100 was originally a 3 on the tree, swapped over to being on the
floor. im just wondering if there are any easy options to swapping it to a 5

As a 5-speed wasn't available in 1978, this conversion will entail a change in trans mounts and maybe a driveshaft length change. There might be electrical components to a late-model trans that you'll have to deal with, as well, so see if you can find an older trans that won't require this.. Other than that, pick the floor shifter you like and you should be OK.
