72 ranchero cant keep it running need heip sloving problem, new fuel pump ,filter ,rebuilt carb ,new points plugs ect . whole nine yards!

i get no response from engine when i push gas pedal dies.

Check for vacuum leaks, set the timing and do a compression test.

Check for back pressure from the exhaust. Kids used to jam a potato up the tail pipe, the car wouldn't run. Maybe a collapsed muffler or pipe. Gary
