Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car starts fine but revs really high until I tap the gas pedal(I havent
adjusted the choke since the weather got cold). The car shakes more than
normal while idling. After driving, it shuts off or threatens to shut off at stop
signs. The oil psi stays around 19 idle but wavers. Car starts right back up
and drives fine, but will shut off when my foots not on the gas. What could
be the cause? Only started recently

You probably need to tune it up. Check for vacuum leaks, adjust the choke and maybe rebuild the carburetor. What engine do you have?
