When I was young my Dad had a 1964 Ford Falcon with a 200 six cylinder and a two speed automatic. I don't know if larger wheels will do well on this car because it will change the drive ratio enough to make the car struggle more that it already does. This car has only 120HP and did 40MPH in first and 85MPH in second. Modern cars have a whole lot more gears and horsepower. Wouldn't hurt to try but don't throw away the original wheels for the time being.

this will cost some $ but do a complete suspension upgrade- do your homework, Summit racing, Hot Rod magazine, etc. etc. you can get a complete front suspension with new hubs that will accommodate those new wheels you want so bad- then you also have modern brakes and control-
