2008 Mazda 6 for $600

Asked by GuruL83WR Apr 25, 2019 at 05:59 AM about the 2008 Mazda MAZDA6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Would it be a good buy if I get a 2008 Mazda
6 for $600.. the transmission is slipping and
the AC don't work, has 65k miles. Would it
be an easy fix or would I end up putting
more money in it . Thanks in advance

In perfect shape, the car's probably worth almost $10,000. If a mechanic hasn't bought it for $600 yet, it's probably not worth fixing. The transmission and AC could run as high as $7,000 to fix. If you just want to jump in for the $600 to see what the future holds, it's just $600 and you might be surprised and end up with a decent car. BTW, I'd buy it, and quick, just to see what I could do.

Ok I got a buddy that works in a junk yard and can probably get the pieces it needs for a decent price, Should I go for the buy ... Appreciate your feedback

As I said, I'd buy it just on spec. If this doesn't work out, you can always ask your buddy if he can help you part it out. Sounds like a win for you either way: Ka-Ching $$$.
