what 5speed trans will fit a 73 240z

from 1978 280z which had a 5 spd and 1979 to 1981 nissan 280zx also would fit. in 1982 nissan changed the 5spd to a more tougher unit which was the borg warner t5 and you would have to do a little modifying for this 5spd to work

Borg Warner T5 was for the turbo model ONLY. N/A 5spd were still Nissan transmissions. All Nissan Z transmissions (5/4sp) bolt directly to any L24/L26/L28 engines. They have the exact same housing.

I don't have an answer for you But I wanna let you know that I have a motor with a 5 speed trans for sale. Actually I have 2 transmissions I took the engine and trans out of the car cause the frame was rusted out. It was a 74 240 z 2+2.. If you know any one interested send me a message.
