Lack of power on acceleration

Found the problem myself. Thought you guys would like to know. Crankshaft Cam belt drive sprocket moved on keyway. Check the photo.

What does that mean when you say crankshaft cam belt drive moved to keyway. Is it the cause of lack of power?

My corsa 1400 utility is at 178000 kms and it doesn't have power most especially on first gear cant climb the hill from first gear its frustrating. Cam belt checked, replaced spark plugs

When the idlling goes up and down disconnect the choke plug it would fine and u must replace it

check your clutch plate if the is no oil leaking from the rear crank seal to the clutch plate,also check that when angage first gear doesn"t it rev higher and if it does then it's the clutch.

I have a Corsa aswell my first gear also didn't have power then changed sprocket and timing kit then it was fine had all the power but after a two years when I accelerate over a long distance I will loose all power while driving we busy working on it now will update when finshed

Is there no other symptom you are getting cause it could be any number of things at this point maybe the air intake/ airflow metre or could be the idle control valve is dirty or maybe your fuel regulator is dirty or blocked or petrol filter and petrol pump which i doubt

Hi there does anyone have a solution coz ive changed the petrol pump, crank sensor, fuel relay, on my 2001 corsa lite 1.4 but it still jerks and loses power when accelerate even the two sensors on the throttle now im stuck with a jerking car

Have you checked all off the above the crank nd pully plus sprocket also check your timing sensor if it's sitting proper the fuel regulator could also be another option you should look at but mainly check if your plugs are getting wet that should tell you if your engine is rich / over fueling then please update us

Hi somila, My plugs arw firing jus fine no wet plugs, to my suprise when i pour petrol to half tank it seems to be better as i can drive it to 120km/h and the jerking is feint. So today ill be checking the crank pulleys and crank gear

Hi guys i came back to update you. The photo below is the culprit that was buggering me all these tym. Due to it ddnt have any error codes and no engin check lite i kept on saying its good. Took one from chev optra to test, even though the engine check light is on and the idling its a bit high but the power is back no more jerking. So ill buy anothe new one tomorrow and fit it. Thanx guys hope it'll help others solve the problem

Take your whole cylinder head to engineers in your area they must check your valves and valve guides and stems then pressure test and skim if needed

MY CORSA B 1.4 LOOSES POWER ON LOW GEARS AND OVERHEATING WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

Overheating I'll suggest remove the thermostat as it doesn't get so cold by us, also check for air bubbles in the water system. As for the jerking orblosing power on low gears most probably a timing issue, check alsobthe rubber hoses could be a vacuum leak

Ey man the problem could be many things you are not giving us enough details but the above answer is right but removing the thermostat doesn't fix the problem but it helps. Overheating could be many of thing's you could check your hoses check your radiator check your themo also check your temp sender unit then check if your fan hitting on time. Also the fan fuse. Then loosing power check your timing sprocket and pull,belt everything in timing very important in timing you check your water pump could also be your heating problem then check your plugs check the colour of your plugs you can google what colour means what. It could be many of thing's if you a handy guy then play around with it and tell us the results then will advise

Hi guys i have a starting problem on a dankie botswana,whenever i try to start the car the fuse burns,i tried to solve the problem with the test light the current is every where,when i removed the ignition switch plugs the fuse is not burning does it mean that the ignition switch have a bad contact problem?

Same for me have been losing power... Every time i change gears from the first to say about fourth you could literally feel the bakkie dip in power say you drive 3500rpm then change to 4th it dips to 2000rpm,this didn't happen when i first got the bakkie only after the gasket blew and had to skim my top and had to buy a new crankshaft (when the gasket was in and ready to start the first turn of key snapped the crank)

Good morning to All I have a Opel corsa 1.3 98 model the Ne engine. I have a similar problem with my car over fueling no revs when I start it in the morning it would start easy but still jerk and in the afternoon when I leaf for home it takes a lot of cranking before it starts and during starts it will back fire. so I started with service and when that did not help replaced all the sensors then the T-bel (I Have Double checked my timing and is Very sure that it is right) Replaced crank gear, crank pickup, coil, plug leads tested and cleaned my injectors and intake butterfly. replaced the fuel pump relay and fuel pump so After all that it ran sort of ok for a few day's and last night it acted up again checked my plugs an sow it black as night replaced them wit new ones so after that it starts but does not rev up. after a few min running the exhaust manifold become extremely red so I switched it off and towed it home. I have a OBD 2 Diagnostic tester but can't seem to get it to connect to the computer. because the check engine light is on. This exercise is starting to cost me a lot. Any Thoughts on where else I can search for the problem. there is no holes in the exhaust and the car is defiantly over fueling. I also get some oil in the intake from the tappet cover and think that might also be part of the problem. I also found that the Fuel relay Became extremely hot some times. So I have checked the earth wires on the engine but all is ok there. Hope this I enough info For someone that can Help Please it's not my best car It's my Only. Thanks so far have a nice day All.

(Guru6YV3D) ok you atleast have the whole weekend to do this take of your tappet cover check for any cracks or leaks then take off your cylinder head (top) and check your valves on the side facing the chamber i would also suggest you do a pressure test if you haven't already maybe even alight skeem then check your pistons on top look for carbon it usually tells you if there is firing or not or which valves not firing also check to see if your rings are not allowing oil to flow through thats if you havent done rings and bearings yet also be aware the rings can be fitted the wrong way around and that can cause issues like yours after all that post what you see so we can understand and advise further

Hy....my opel corsa utility has a problem with starting...but when I place a wet cloth on the throttle with petrol its start and runs fine, as soon as the cloth dry up its cuts and stop running......I have changed the petrol pump and petrol filter and the petrol does reach the injectors with pressure and also the coil with new spark plugs were changed

Ok you say the car starts when you place a wet cloth with gas on the tb hey you guys are creative but oh well reminds me of the carb days well ok fine i would suggest you pull out your fuel injectors and test them if they spraying just google how it's done i.m sure there many video's of that i would test all the injectors and if they fine i would check for blockages on the entry points of each one let us know after you do that

Hy somila we took one injectors from a running car still it didn't wanna start, another thing even whn u close the tb with hand without gas it does start and as soon as u take out the hand its stop running.......please advice the TPS how does its work course am suspecting its

Thanks for the update ok now do you mean you plugged in a working injectors in your car and they sprayed without issues all four of them so your electric is fine ? Ok and have you taken out your tps and idle control valve and cleaned them was there any dirt or oil logged in them ? Have you timed your accelerator cable have you looked at the springs on the throttle body and have you cleaned your throttle body have you looked at the gasket of the throttle body branch to the cylinder head is it tighted the screws are there no leaks on the cyclinder head let me know when you have checked all of that

Hi I have a Corsa Lite 1.4iS 2002 model and at the right rear side, next to shock absorber is oil leaking. It is definitely not coming from the shock. It is next to the fuel filler pipe going into the fuel tank. According to my knowledge nothing at the rear is working with oil? It smells and feels like oil. Any Opel gurus?
