Further to Opel Corsa Lite stalling.

As Ive explained before about the Opel Corsa Lite stalling, I forgot to ask the following...… can the Idle position Sensor somehow be linked to the radiator fan because as the mechanic was testing the car he connected a brand new sensor just to make sure if it was the sensor giving me problems and all of a sudden the fan kicked in. Now the thing ive been noticing is that my fan hasn't been working for a long time and all of a sudden when he plugged in the new sensor the fan kicked in? Is this possible?
