Hard starting

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi I have a opel corsa 1.4is 2001 model. I have  a
pain in the butt problem with my car. In the
morning or when ever during the day when I try to
start my car it cranks very long and then eventually
starts and runs rough for a while then starts to
clear up and runs perfect can smell feul as if its
overfeuling. Have no performance problems while
driving. I replaced the cambelt, crank sprocket
(keyway_crank pulley) feul pump(bosch) feul
pressure regulator. I am sure the timing is correct.
Also replaced the temp sensor under coil. Tested
the air flow meter and so on. No vacuum leaks.
Anyone please help.

see if injectors are firing normally

Thank you for the reply. I removed and cleaned the injectors with carb clean while activating the injectors with a battery. I will remove the rail and check thanx

It is a common problem on all IS models Its got to do with 2 things, fuel regulator not holding pressure in fuel rail, and pump allowing fuel to return after engine stops, causing it to have to build pressure up first before it will start. Change regulator check the results
