Brakes and oil gage

Asked by May 14, 2017 at 09:54 AM about the 2003 Ford Explorer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What would cause my oil lever to drop every time I stop
my vehicle?

Could be normal. Since the oil pump is driven by the engine it speeds up and slows down with your engine RPMs. This causes the oil pressure to fluctuate. Oil pressure will also be higher when the engine is cold and the oil is thicker. HTH. -Jim
