63 fairlane 500 would like to put a 302 in it the 302 has six bolts on block my my bellhousing has five do they make a adapter for this or what ?

They are the same small block, so yep, it can be swapped but not with an adapter. You will have to change bell housing and some other parts. Good thread suggest you read: ttp://www.fordmuscleforums.com/falcon-pages/486314-1963-falcon-260-302-swap.html

You didn't mention what transmission is in it, 2 or 3 speed auto or 3 or 4 speed manual. If its a 2 speed auto, doubt if there's a bellhousing made to work. Manual, possibly. Or you could just switch to a C4 transmission and all related parts. Only troubles you might have would be linkage and possibly driveshaft yoke.

If you are going non-original anyway, I would go with the mechanical AOD for the transmission. It will bolt up to the late model 302 with no problem, and give you the advantage of the overdrive. If you get the engine out of a donor, claim the fuel injection while you are at it. The whole job is almost a bolt on and you'll gain serious performance and improve fuel economy as well.

all bellhousings after 65 were 6 bolt will bolt right on your 302 Don`t scap your 5 bolt one. they are getting hard to find.A REAL FORD guy out there would be glad to make you an even swap or put it on bay
