What fuel type should I use?
Lead free or leaded? Regular or high test?

I doubt you can buy leaded fuel. Use unleaded with a lead substitute additive. Use premium if your engine pings.

MG's used cats from 1975 to 1980. There is a good chance your 74 needs leaded (or a substitute) if it is still stock.

  • how do I troubleshoot a fuel problem for a 79 mgb? I replaced the fuel pump but not getting fuel out of the tank to the carb-I have 4-5 gal of fuel in the tank 1 Answer

    I seem to but be getting power to the pump but if I disconnect the line out of the pump no fuel comes out when I try to start. The tank, sending unit, pump, fuel lines from tank and gas is new.
