ASC McLaren did some chops on Capris but i don't think they started till a few years later; like 84, 85. unless you're talking about the 1990 capri, which was built by ford of australia.

AHA Manufacturing thay made the mercury capri convertible from 1979 to 1983 i have found this much out because i have a 1979 capri convertible 302v8 auto all black u can contact me at cmaretjr@yahoo.com

There were at least 5 different companies that made them the first couple of years of the Fox body. Some even overseas, check out Foureyedpride.com & you can find all kinds of information... I'm warning you though, be preparred to spend a LOT of time there. You will find all kinds of info on the Mustangs & Capri's in general, but they cover all Fox body cars. DVSCAPRI
