Could someone verify I have the correct info on my RV?

Question type: General

I have an RV. I believe the engine
was born in 1979 but wasn't
released until 1981. Vin # not
found in computer's. Hard to find
manual and parts. Engine is a
440, and I'm 99% sure it's a D
series. Could someone please
verify that I'm correct on my info?
I live in my RV on the streets with
my family and it wont start.
I think I need a cap and rotor.
