Accidentally put car in reverse while driving!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I have a 1999 Toyota Starlet (automatic), When driving, I accidentally put
the lever to reverse. (I meant to put it in neutral) I felt a 'jerk' then I put it back to
drive immediately when I realized. Does a 99 starlet have reverse inhibit? Did I
damage my transmission?

Yes you have a 'reverse inhibit' and no, you most likely did not damage your transmission. (although being a '99 it may have other wear and tear on it.)
