The Caliente was a high performance model of the Comet. Which engine does it have?

The Caliente was more of a trim option, the Cyclone was the High performance option Although the 64 Caliente had a 289 engine, and the engine code was K a lot of people confused the Comets K code as being the same as Fords K code, but it was not, the 64 Comet K code engine was the equivalent to the Mustangs A code 289

The Caliente was a trim level of the Mercury Comet. The Caliente was available with the striahgt 6 or 289 smallblock V-8. A manual transmission was also available. The 289 cost about 2400 bucks. The similar mustang was 2800.

I got one for sale if interested. 1967 Caliente Convertible red with black top and black leather. Shoot me text if you are. 4707765334
