What engine does your Mustang currently have? If it is also a V8 then it might very well work. Be sure and get the computer to go with the engine.

It's also a 4.6, but I just wanted to be sure it would work without a doubt before I made any big moves

Get as many parts from the donor car as possible. Computer, wiring, accessories and all the induction parts as well.
