76 mg midget gauge hot, won't shut off

76 mg midget short drive, turned key off and violent sputtering, turn key back
on and engine up and running. Temp gauge hot, got it home and some steam
around hoses

You may need to do a cooling system service. Hoses, flush, thermostat etc. If the engine runs on after turning the key on you may need to run a higher octane gas.
