Brake lights

Asked by bev1126 Feb 04, 2019 at 02:07 PM about the 2004 Ford Taurus

Question type: General

Was rear-ended in a 2004 Taurus. The guy at
fault is saying I had no break light. However,
prior to the accident, a police cruiser
followed me for about 30 minutes. I assume
he would have pulled me over if I had no
break lights. Is there a technical way of
proving I did have break lights?

No way that I know unless they work after the accident. Finding another witness that could back up your story is your best bet.

Thank you. The car was totaled. I had a car once that if the brake lights were out, I couldn't get it out of gear. Just wondered if an 04 was set up like that. Is the third brake light wired in with the rear two?
