I have n47 head, when I removed it it had metal gasket and a head gasket do I have to put both plate and gasket on when I reassemble it.

Its a 78z but a 79 motor, N47 head, I need to know if the metal spacer on the engine head needs to be replaced?

Should just be one gasket. But maybe it is a shim. The gasket has metal incorporated. Do u have a picture ?
