six speed 280z

Does anyone know or have tried putting a six-speed manual transmission in a Datsun 280z? If it is possible what would be my best choice for transmissions

They came with 4 and 5 speeds. I would suggest going with a Skyline transmission, but for that trouble I would go with a RB26 engine and transmission.

you could get one from a GM LS motor and fabricate a mount...lots of work. Best choice is 5 speed from 280zx.

Mine has a 4 speed transmission but really needs that 5th gear. Will a 5 speed transmission just match right up?
