how do u check the trouble codes on a 2004 ford freestar
friends van was very low on fuel and then he put some in and when he
restarted it it coughed (maybe backfired) and ran rough for a while. when I
saw it it was running fine but check engine light is still on. judt wanted to find
out what the trick to get codes from it.
Visit your local auto parts store and have the computer scanned. Most stores will do it for free. Or you can buy a hand held code reader for about $50. You'll plug into the ALDL connector under the dash near the steering column. Follow the directions that comes with the code reader if you decide to buy one. They do come in handy. HTH. -Jim
