Question type: General

How often should my car be serviced - it is based on time or mileage?

44,755

The service schedule should be in the owner's manual- but generally, small services happen at 7500, major at 15,000, minor at 22,500, major at 30,000, etc. etc. and so forth with a big service at 90,000 miles. Time is only a factor when they car is not driven very often- like on a little old lady's car that only gets driven 3 miles to church for years- then, with little mileage, time becomes a factor as some of the rubber parts start to deteriorate, among other problems- another factor can be if you drive in harsh conditions, like bad roads, dust, heat, etc. then the wear and tear on the machine is greater and the services must come sooner-
