1980 280zx non turbo

My 1980 280zx  will run .But, it is not running good.
If you remove the pto holes off it runs smooth. My
question is what is the problem?

PTO? There is no power take off on your car. If you mean the PCV then it may not be getting enough air. Is the air filter clogged?

PCV is what I am talking about. The filter looks fine. How far out should the air adjustment screw be twisted out?
