Its not behind the windshield on the dash on the drivers side? Otherwise check the title. It would be on there.

thanks Mark , If it was , its been covered by new dash upholstery which cant be removed.

The only title i have is its "special interest vehicle" club reg and when ringing VIC ROADS they have nothing to tell me saying that its not been registered.

Look on the fire wall on the drivers side for a metal plate. They use to put them there also.

And I'm sure you could pull back the upholstery without hurting it.

It should be a 13 digit number.

If the car still has the original interior, try popping the rear seat out and looking in the webbing for the build sheet, you'll have to combine the serial number and model number to get the full VIN.

As Rowefast said, the VIN will be on a plate at the lower driver's side, visible through the windshield. The Federal Government mandated this beginning with 1968 new model vehicles. If it's been covered by a dash pad cover you'll have to peel back the cover to expose the VIN plate. HTH. -Jim
