Hello i have a 1965 ford Galaxie 500 that needs a fuel tank but can not find one. I can find tanks for 66 galaxie's but everyone tells me they will not fit. I looked at a fuel tank on a 66 at a car show and it looked the same but i'm not 100% sure, does anyone know if a 66 fuel tank will fit a 65?

If you want to buy a new tank, try an auto parts store. I have a 1965 Galaxie 500 and wound up with a tank for a 1971 Ford LTD which is just a dressed up Galaxie. A 70 or 72 will probably work also. Just make sure that you use a 1965 sending unit or it won't register right on your fuel gauge. You will probably need a new gauge anyhow. They usually rust out where the wires connect.

VERY wrong. It wont just hook up. 65 is a one off tank.
