I have a 2004 ford explorer V 6  I want to
interchange with a 1994 V 6 will it work

No it will not work, the engines are controlled by two totally different computers.

Two different engines. The 94 is a OHV engine and the 2004 is a SOHV engine. As Rowefast indicated the electronics are different. There are at least a half dozen pin-outs on the 2004 which aren't available on the 94 PCM.
