My 1985 Toyota Hilux is fitted with a Celica gearbox and X-trail diff. Are there any issues with this

I have just bought this ute, second hand, and I am have been told this is not a good combination. Any ideas and experience would be appreciated.

Manual transmissions usually take 80W-90 hypoid gear oil~...that's all I can say from my years of experience....varies NOT from car to car...they all the same~
