1971 280sl. When the tank is full, there's a strong feul odor in the car originating from the plastic box in the trunk on the left. Please help.

If you can see the fuel tank you should probably check all of the hoses and around the fuel filler pipe for any signs of dampness, splits or rust. I'm not overly familiar with the layout of the 113 chassis fuel tank but if your smelling fuel in that general area then checking for signs of leaks is always a good place to start.
