2004 Ford Escape rear end

Asked by Aug 08, 2018 at 05:45 PM about the 2004 Ford Escape

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving my ford escape and heard a sound from rear end sounded like a
loud Thump and thought I hit something. No I didn't hit anything. When I had a
heavier passenger riding in back seat it sounded like metal dragging on metal
and looked at rear end and it seems the metal bars holding tires up I do not
know what they are called are dragging into wheel wells, when there is weight
in back seat. I and husband have no clue what we even should be looking at
to see what broke  .we had Differntal changed and husband filled with fluid he
is perplexed because after it got changed only took a half quart and online
people say it should take 3 quarts fluid .
