depending on truck style (reg. cab, x-cab, short box, long box) the range is anywhere from 1400-1800 lbs- if you tell me the body style and box size I can get more specific- I hope this helps.

Well, it's a half ton truck, so I would keep it in the 1,000 lb vacinity. Over filling it can be dangerous to the safe handling while driving, and hard on the suspension components like shocks, springs, etc.

I have carried 3,000 pounds in my F150 but I have heavy duty tires and overloads. I don't recommend it but it worked just fine.

Yea me too... carried up to 4000lbs in my 1990 F150. Just put some heavy duty bump stops under rear axle so the bed doesnt sag and Im good to go. Trucks pull more than their rated... its just a safety thing for most out there who freak out on the road.

Thanks for the responses. Tom, the first responder, suggested that I look in the glove box. There is a sticker in there that had the answer. That is 750 pounds. Thanks, I'm going to haul a load of sand. I'll haul less than I intended. But I'll be safe. Thanks again. (Very Helpful.

I hauled a cubic yard of dirt = 2700 lbs or so in my 2001 Sierra 1500. I made it but I would not do it again. I didn't realize how much it would weigh (didn't do my homework), and I made it the 30 miles - slowly - but I think that was pushing it.

2000 Chev Silverado LS,4.8. Had no idea that 317 5-3/4" x 5-3/4" x 2" Would have her squatting that bad. I made it 30+ miles at 45mph. Slow but safe, since front end felt like it was floating. Wouldn't do it again. I calculated, roughly 1400Lbs. Could be more or less.

I carried a pallets of pavers - 3,500 lbs each, on a 2001 Chevy Silverado, 5.3L, Long Bed. I made 2 trips, 3,500 lbs each time. I suggest to drive slow, and put something like carton near the back window in case the load moves, it doesn't crack the window. I don't recommend it. Looking back I should have paid the $150.00 delivery fee. If a tires ruptures, then it'll be a mess, the risk is not worth it. Lucky everything came out ok.
