why is malfunction light on

I had a 2007 model and for any number of reasons, a malfunction light can display. it doesn't necessarily mean all doom and gloom. if the car is running ok ,it is probably a sensor issue, but which one? a malfunctioning 0'2 sensor will normally give u lousy fuel consumption. take it to someone who has the correct diagnostic equipment.
