I have a gmc sierra 2000 and it wont get reverse or drive and not even the light turn on but the shieft handle does move! What can be wrong! And i hurd something pop on the bottom .

Could be two things that stands out, the shift cable broke that would let the handle move and not show what gear it's in, if it was a big hard Pop/bom it's the tranny gone,

Most trannys now days you have a cable, and there's this lil box thing on driver side of tranny that the cable hooks on. And when you pull the shifter it changes the gear, if that's it man you got off easy not hard to change at all!!!! But if it's blew tranny need a new one
