97 GMC Sierra won't start

Asked by GaryOS Aug 09, 2015 at 07:20 PM about the 1997 GMC Sierra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drive this truck in frequently. Last time was April of this year. It started but with difficulty. I tried to start it again in July and it didn't start. It has been extremely rainy and humid more so than normal. The truck is parked in the shade. It turns over and runs for a few seconds and then dies. I'm wondering a) if I have moisture in the distributor, b) problems with the fuel pump or c) water in my gas. Any suggestions as what I should check?

I work on a friend Chevy van with a 6 vortex and the van was doing something like that and once it start it will sound like off timing and sluggish. They change the timing chain kit and distribution 3 months earlier and the fuel pump when this problem was happening. It end up been the distributor cap :-) hope this help you Krankenwagen European car specialist
