My truck stopped running last night. it was running right, new oil change and then stalled out on the way home. it will not start at this point, turns over, tries, but never does. what could be wrong?

1985 GMC Sierra. just got an oil change the day of, not problem with spark plugs, checked already. had abnormaly large amount of white smoke from oil change. when it started to stop running the throttle would be down and the engine would start to go then just give out, choke and try to die. had absolutely no power to go in any gear until it died. had it towed, now it wont start

Check to see if there is oil in it & at the right level. If you can do a compression test to make sure that all cylinders are close to the same compression. Check dist. Hold down locking tab tight. How many miles on the heads.

Did you change the oil yourself?If not who did ?Is it the same place you always go to?Because it sounds to me you have got ANTI-FREEZE in your oil.It could be what Scott answered you.Or the person who changed your oil just did a NUMBER on your engine.HOPE NOT!!But you need to find out.GOOD LUCK!!
