Astra 1.3cdi estate

Asked by thunderbuck Oct 21, 2009 at 04:37 PM about the Vauxhall Astra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

No power for first 2 miles or so after starting. Feels as if turbo not working, then is ok and drives normally. very occasionally it is ok but this is a rarity.
car has done 103k. Vauxhall dealers a waste of space as they keep saying there is nothing wrong. there most certainly is. Car is company leased but they don't help much either, just keep booking it back into the same dealer despite being told how unimpressed I am. Problem has been with the car since new but only happened once or twice in 6 months, now it is daily
Car is the worst thing I have driven. New gearbox @ 82k, new clutch & flywheel 2 weeks later, new alternator 1 week later, new tailgate switch. Lack of power from 86k.
all ideas welcome so I can tell dealers their job

I had a 1.3CDTi - worst car I ever owned!!! Have you tried http://www.vauxhallmechanics.co.uk - they helped me out when it had been in at the dealers for over 4 weeks!! The main guy who helped on the forum was Jim Grayson of : http://www.jg-automotive.co.uk an independant vauxhall specialist. Traded it in for a Ford Mondeo. Suggest you do the same.
